The journey of a nerd who loves the Lord

Bible Study: John 15

Salutations.  I’m reading through most of the New Testament, chapter by chapter, and logging some of my thoughts here in my journal.  I continue this study, looking at the message of Salvation and John the Baptist’s Testamony.  I highly encourage you to read God’s Word for yourself and share your thoughts!

John 15

The beginning verses discuss the vine and those who bear fruit.  Note that those who do not bear fruit are tossed into the fire.  Jesus tells them again to follow his commands.  Many believe that we cannot follow the Bible’s directions, yet, the Bible does not allow excuses.  Jesus simply tells us to obey.  He points out that we must love one another.

The world hates Jesus, and therefore, will hate those who follow Him.  It breaks my heart to see pastors who are reaching across the aisle so hard to partner with governments and larger organizations.  If you do stand on Jesus and what He teaches, the world will hate and reject you.  As Jesus said, “A servant is not greater than His master.”

In a passage there, Jesus said, “If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not be guilty of sin.”  Then leads me to believe that we are judged based on what we know and are taught.
